Jimmy D. McDaniel, P.E., C.F.M. is a Principal and co-founder of AMD Engineering which was started in January 2006.


Jimmy received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University in 1997. While at Texas Tech, Jimmy was a member of TAU Beta Pi and Chi Epsilon.

After graduating, Jimmy joined Bury and Pittman, Inc. in Dallas, TX. While with Bury and Pittman, Jimmy worked as a Project Designer commercial development services for MacArthur Park at Las Colinas and numerous multi-family and commercial development projects in the Metroplex area.

In July 1999, Jimmy joined Hugo Reed and Associates, Inc. as an Engineer-in-Training and Licensed Professional Engineer until co-founding AMD Engineering in January 2006. While at Hugo Reed and Associates, Jimmy served as Project Designer, Project Engineer and Project Manager for numerous residential and commercial developments; private H & H and FEMA flood studies; Playa Lake cut and fill projects; wastewater treatment plant and elevated storage tank design for the Town of Ransom Canyon; and multiple sanitary sewer lift stations.

Jimmy currently serves as Principal and Project Manager with AMD Engineering on a wide variety of projects including: residential and commercial developments, school additions and renovations, FEMA submittals, survey coordination, and earthwork cut and fill projects.

Jimmy is currently a member of the South Plains Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers and the West Texas Home Builders Association and Developer’s Council. Jimmy is licensed as a Professional Engineer in Texas and New Mexico and is a Certified Floodplain Manager.

A native of Sundown, TX, Jimmy is married to Shay and together they are the parents of 3 children (Seth, Luke, and Kolt).
